Privacy
Evolved 2048 keeps as little as it can. You can play without an account, and then nothing about you is kept by the game's server.
On your device
- Your game in progress, best score and settings are saved in your browser, on your device only.
With an account
- Your email address, a scrambled form of your password (never the password itself), and the display name you choose.
- Your ranked games: their moves, score, biggest tile and dates, so the server can check them and show the leaderboard. Your display name is public on the leaderboard; your email is never shown.
- A sign-in cookie, used only to keep you signed in.
- An account whose email is never confirmed is deleted after 7 days. Deleting your account deletes your details and your games.
With the Supporter Pack
- The date you got the pack, whether you chose to be on the supporters list, and a record of each purchase: Stripe's reference for it, the amount, the currency, and whether it was refunded.
- If you delete your account, the purchase records are kept without any link to you, because sales records must be kept for tax.
- Card details go to Stripe and never reach Evolved 2048.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare runs the game's website and server, sends the game's emails, and checks sign-ups for robots (Turnstile).
- Neon stores the accounts database.
- Stripe (and Link, its checkout service) takes payments for the Supporter Pack and sends the receipt. Stripe's own privacy policy covers what it keeps.
- PostHog counts visits without cookies; see How visits are counted.
Your choices
- You can see and change your display name, and delete your account, in the game.
- For a copy of what is kept about you, or any other question, reply to any email the game sent you.
